LISA LIND

BIOGRAPHY

Swedish and American, born 1976.Lisa Lind was born in Gothenburg, Sweden to an American mother andSwedish father, and subsequently raised in Pennsylvania. She is a bilingual dual citizen of the United States and Sweden.Lisa’s interest in all things visual was fosteredat a young age with enrollment in art majors from early education through college. After earning a BFA in Graphic Design from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Lisa spent the following eighteen years in New York City, painting and working as a creative director in the design industry. Lisa lives and works in her studio/residence in Woodbury, Connecticut, where she focuses on oil and gouache landscapes and still life painting, as well as a newly-found passion for woodcarving. Inspired by nature and a love of traveling, she can often be found exploring the outdoors along the coast of New England.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Famously reticent artist, Milton Avery, once quipped “Why talk when you can paint?”Through color-rich depictions of landscapes and still life, art is simply how I see the world
